Tahquamenon Falls State Park is currently in the lead in a national contest for the best fall foliage destinations in the U.S. to experience vibrant fall colors.

It comes as no surprise that Tahquamenon Falls is leading the way in USA Today's Readers’ Choice poll for “Best Destination for Fall Foliage.” It's one of the most beautiful places on Earth year-round with fall being the standout time to visit.

USA Today:

As the name implies, Tahquamenon Falls State Park is best known for its waterfalls — but there's a lot more to do around here than just marvel at the rushing water. There are more than 35 miles of hiking trails to explore, with ample opportunity to enjoy peak leaf season and spot wild black bears, deer, foxes, and a massive array of native birds along the way.

A few days ago things looked a little different as Keystone State Park in Pennsylvania was in the lead but now Tahquamenon Falls State Park is on top.

Readers can vote for their favorite location to see the best fall colors in the U.S. until September 4.

I will finally get to see Tahquamenon Falls this weekend for the first time while visiting Sault Ste. Marie. I figure if I'm in the Soo during the summer, I have to make my way to Tahquamenon Falls. The colors won't be popping yet, but I'm sure it's just as amazing as everyone says.
