These Popular MI Riverboat Tours May Be Going Away After 96 Years
After 96 years, a popular and historic trolley/riverboat tour company in Michigan's Upper Peninsula may cease to exist.
The Toonerville Trolley and Tahquamenon Falls Riverboat Tours in Soo Junction have been giving scenic tours to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls since before most of us were even born.

According to MLive, the owners who represent the fourth generation of this cherished tour company are prepared to retire. In 2022, they put the business up for sale with the aspiration of discovering an individual who will guide it toward its 100th anniversary and beyond.
Co-owner Dixie Stewart:
It’s a daily occurrence on trip days that passengers will come in and they’ve been there before: They’re celebrating something, they were there on their honeymoon 50 years ago, they brought their kids and now they’re bringing their grandkids. I had a lady yesterday on the boat who had a 20-year-old brochure that she’d been keeping, and she wanted all the people on the crew to sign it.

This will really bum me out if they don't find someone to take over the company because I've always wanted to do one of the Toonerville Trolley and Tahquamenon Falls Riverboat Tours. I'm actually going to the U.P. tomorrow and kind of feel like I need to swing through Soo Junction and book a little tour. If I don't I may never get the opportunity again.
