Target has big plans this holiday season when it comes to hiring workers. With a 20% increase from last year, they plan on hiring 120,000 workers this holiday season.

According to WNEM, the temporary hires will stock store shelves and check people out at the register. In addition, it plans to hire 7,500 people to pack online orders at its warehouses. Target says it will pay workers $12 an hour, a dollar more an hour than last year.

Sure it's only a temporary gig but if you go to school and you're just looking for something short term, this is perfect for you.

I'm not sure how many positions will be available locally but 120,000 positions is a lot considering they only have 1,8000 stores around the country.

Current workers also will be offered extra hours during the season. Employees can earn holiday pay by working on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Target will host hiring events at all stores nationwide from Friday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 14. The events will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day with the potential for eligible applicants to interview on the spot and receive a conditional job offer during the weekend events.

Candidates for Target’s seasonal positions, as well as those interested in a distribution center job, can apply ahead of the hiring event at TargetSeasonalJobs.com.
