Say What? This Tattoo Shop in Lapeer Isn’t Closed After All

UPDATE:  According to the owner, Welch's Tattoos in Lapeer is not actually closed. 

Earlier this week, someone on social media asked why Red Room Social Club Tattoos in Lapeer had shut down. Before we get to that, can we talk about the name of this place? I'll be honest—I don't know much about the tattoo shop or its history, but what I do know is that the name was always very confusing. It’s listed as Red Room Social Club, Tattoos at the Red Room, Red Room Social Club Emporium, and Red Room Social Club Tattoos. It's now called Welch's Tattoos.

From my understanding, it was originally called Tattoos at the Red Room, but after the owner passed away, it was taken over by someone else, and that’s when things changed. Keep in mind, all of this information is based on what I’ve gathered from social media and Google.

Technically Red Room Social Club Tattoos is permanently closed. However, Welch's Tattoos is open.

After the question was asked on Facebook, there seemed to be a lot of confusion about the status of the business. It seemed many people hadn’t realized that the name had changed from Red Room Social Club Tattoos to Welch’s Tattoos. However, after we shared the information, we were contacted by the owner and reassured that the shop was still in business.
