Detroit Is Getting a Massive Comedy Show Featuring Some Big Michigan Names

If you're a fan of comedy, TV shows like The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, or just seeing celebrities give back to Michigan, this sounds pretty cool.

A special event called The Coney is coming to Detroit's Opera House on September 26, and the lineup is loaded with comedians and actors, including several with Michigan roots.

What Is The Coney Supporting?

The show is being held to raise money for youth arts programs in Detroit.

According to The Coney, proceeds will support the Children's Foundation of Michigan and the Detroit Creativity Project, which works to help young people gain access to arts education and creative opportunities.

Who's Appearing at The Coney?

One of the things I like about this event is how many of the performers have Michigan roots. They're coming together to raise money for organizations that support arts programs for kids in Detroit.

Here's a look at some of the big names scheduled to appear.

Kristen Bell
If you've watched Frozen, The Good Place, Veronica Mars, or about a hundred other things, you already know Kristen Bell.

One of the funniest people to come out of the Detroit area. Richardson starred in Detroiters alongside Tim Robinson and has also appeared in Veep, Ted Lasso, and a long list of movies and TV shows.

When Do Tickets Go On Sale?

The event is open to the public, but tickets will be limited. Ticket sales are expected to begin later this month.

Honestly, it's not every day you see this many well-known actors and comedians on the same stage in Detroit, especially for a cause that's focused on helping local kids.
