The Flint Firebirds Season Opener is This Saturday
This weekend is opening weekend for the Flint Firebirds 2019-2020 season.
The Firebirds are back in action for the season and it's time to head back to Dort Federal Event Center for all the hockey action.
On Saturday, the Firebirds take on the Niagara IceDogs at 7 pm. All fans will receive a rally towel, compliments of Dort Federal Credit Union, and an official Flint Firebirds magnet schedule will be handed out to fans after the game. Bring the whole family as there will be bounces houses for the kids and other great promotions during the game. Saturday will also include the inaugural cornhole tournament before the game. There will be two divisions, social and competitive, and registration starts at noon with the tournament starting at 2 pm.
The action continues on Sunday with a 2 pm game against the Sarnia Sting. The opening weekend festivities continue with the first Firebirds Family Fun Day. You can get up to two free kids' tickets with the purchase of an adult ticket. The firebirds will also be hosting a post-game skate with the Firebirds players and bounces houses for the kids. Get there early for the car show from 11:30 am until game time.
Be sure to check out the Flint Firebirds Coach's Show, live at Timothy's Pub today from 5 pm until 7 pm. Maggie and Flint Firebirds announcer Dominic Hennig will be joined by head coach Eric Wellwood and Firebirds Goaltender Anthony Popovich.
