Six Walmart Supercenters in Michigan are now offering COVID-19 vaccine appointments. I'm not sure why only six are making this available but it's better than nothing.

Good news for those living in the area, the Lapeer Walmart location is one of the six places to make an appointment.

Walmart Supercenter stores include:

  • Alma: 7700 N. Alger Road
  • Cheboygan: 1150 S. Main St.
  • Greenville: 10772 W Carson City Road
  • Jackson: 1700 W. Michigan Ave.
  • Lapeer: 555 E. Genesee St.
  • St. Johns: 1165 Superior Drive

As of right now, appointments can only be made online but no open vaccine appointments are available at any of the Michigan stores.

According to the Detroit Free Press, The company advises people to bring your identification on the day of your appointment and your insurance card if you have one as well as proof of vaccine eligibility if applicable. Appointment availability will fluctuate according to vaccine supply.

There isn't a lot of information about the vaccine appointments at Walmart available right and because you can't make an appointment, the little information we have seems kind of pointless but it's good for future reference I suppose. I'm sure openings will be available soon.

All Michiganders 16 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting on April 5th. This is good news as we're starting to see the COVID cases rising again throughout the state.

Michiganders that are currently eligible for COVID-19 are:

  • Anyone age 50 or older with a disability or an underlying health condition
  • Parents/guardians of special needs children
  • Food processing and agricultural workers
  • K-12 teachers
  • Child care workers
  • Law enforcement officers
  • Health care workers
  • Those who live and work in long-term care facilities
