Want to be a Bartender? This Flint Area Bartending School Can Make it Happen

Located in Burton, Drinks of Essence Bartending School is Genesee County's only licensed bartending school.

Flint Native, Sheena Harrison made things official last Thursday, October 14 when she cut the ribbon to her new building that will be the home of Drinks of Essence Bartending School.

Originally, when Harris started the company it was a mobile bartending and infused fruit company. Personally, I think that too was a great idea.

According to MLive, the bartending instructor learned her craft at Detroit Mixology and has perfected it throughout the years at various bars in Flint and Rochester.

I just want to make people employable. Everyone wants to make extra money. Some people do not want to go to college. However, I can help people become employable and help out my community -- that’s what I want to do.

Where is Drinks of Essence Bartending School located?

Drinks of Essence Bartending School is located at 4549 S. Saginaw St. in Burton. It sits right next to North Sea Chinese Restaurant on the corner of Saginaw and Maple.

If you want to take a stab at bartending but don't want the pressures of learning while on the job, this school could be perfect for you. There are so many bars and restaurants looking for bartenders, right now could be the perfect time to go to bartending school.

Here's something you probably didn't know about me, I went to a bartending school in Flint way back in the day. I think I attended the school in 1992, right out of high school. I went through the whole program but didn't pass my "final exam.' I don't do well under pressure and I had to mix drinks in a certain amount of time and I just couldn't do it, so I left and never went back. My bartending days started and ended there.
