Why Did Construction Stop This Project in Grand Blanc?
Does anyone know the status of this construction site in Grand Blanc?
For those that travel down Saginaw Street in downtown Grand Blanc, a small plot of land is under construction. On the northwest corner of Saginaw Street and Reid Road (which turns into Old Bridge Road east of Saginaw Street) residents are left wondering about what is actually going on.
The construction project seems to be at a standstill, but we're not entirely sure why. If memory serves correctly, it was said that a McAlister's Deli franchise is going to be built there, but what is the hold-up?

I drive by this intersection and construction site several times each week and never see anyone working on it. I can't be the only one that is confused as to what is happening, but there is no shortage of rumors, that is for sure.
Rumors that we have heard about the construction project:
- Construction was put on hold for environmental concerns. Apparently, there was a gas station on the bit of land at one point in history which has caused the work stoppage.
- McAlister's Deli is no longer putting a franchise at this location.
- This area is now going to be a part of the proposed Garden Building next to Physicians Park in Grand Blanc.
I honestly have no idea what is happening and can't seem to find much information. So the big question is, does anyone know what is really happening?
