Woman Mistakes Gun For Lighter & Shoots Daughter

A California kid is recovering from a gun shot wound after she was accidentally shot by her mother.

The mother claims she thought the gun was a lighter.

VLAD TV is reporting that Rachel Avila was having a conversation with her 12 year old daughter outside of their mobile home.

Avila picked up what she thought was a lighter shaped like a gun.

Well the damn thing did not light, but on the second try it did shoot out a bullet.

The bullet struck her daughter's upper arm.

The girl was treated and released from the hospital, however police are still investigating.
