Woman Run Over By Pedal Bar She was Riding on in Detroit
A woman in her mid-20s was sent to the hospital Monday night after being ran over by a pedal bar in Detroit near Comerica Park.
You're probably wondering, how in the world does someone get run over by a pedal bar? The bigger question: How does someone get run over by a pedal bar that they were riding on?
Apparently, the woman was a passenger on The Michigan Pedaler when she somehow slipped off her seat and fell off. According to WDIV, the woman became disconnected from the pedal bar where she fell underneath and got ran over by The Michigan Pedaler.
To my knowledge, this isn't something that happens very often. We don't have all of the details so it's tough to gauge whether or not someone was to blame for what happened. I think it's just one of those freak accidents that can happen. You always run that risk when alcohol is involved.
The Michigan Pedaler is a 15 passenger rolling bar that you ride and tour different parts of Detroit including Downtown, Midtown, Corktown, and Eastern Market.
These things are sweet, they have built-in sound systems, on board coolers, cupholders and storage, bike seats/bench, and electric pedal assist.
People pay $300 for two hours and normally have an awesome time, incident free. Again, we don't know the circumstances here but it sounds like an accident.
Hopefully, the woman will be okay.
