One of their plans includes creating a connection to the Iron Belle Trail, which currently passes through Grand Blanc Township and Davison Township.

Burton City Council member Steve Heffner:

The city would just keep adding and adding to this as time goes on, but this will finally give our community a place of their own that we can go and have baseball tournaments and soccer tournaments and family picnics, and just all sorts of stuff.

It’s unclear if they plan to tear down the building or if they’ll be able to repurpose it. I would have to imagine that place is beyond repair.

City officials say they’ll be going after more grants to help cover the cost of whatever improvements come next.
