Take a break from the bonfires, river floats, and fishing, and try something a little more adventurous. Michigan has several cool caves that you can explore throughout the year. The Mitten offers everything from tours of old mines to literal bat caves to explore.

Many of these great caves are located in the upper peninsula, but there are a handful of others throughout the state as well. I think it would be a blast to check out some of the old mines and see what it was like for miners back in the day. It would also be awesome to see the power of nature while checking out the ice caves or watching thousands of bats take flight for their nightly adventures.
