Flint City Bucks Coming Soon to a TV Near You
The Flint City Bucks (American Soccer League) are planning to air 10 live matches on TV on Saturday nights in 2021.
According to Mid-Michigan Now, CW46 will tentatively lead with the Bucks’ USL League two home opener at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15. The team will host USL2’s newest member, Toledo Villa FC at Kettering University’s historic Atwood Stadium in Flint.
Flint City Bucks President Costa Papista:
This is a win for our players, sponsors, and fans. With the possibility that stadium capacity may be reduced for the upcoming season, our expanded broadcast relationship will help us reach fans who are unable to attend Bucks’ matches in person. We are grateful to Sinclair Broadcasting, Kettering University, and to all our sponsors for making these live broadcasts a reality throughout our region again this summer.
Jennifer Rieffer, Regional VP/GM for Sinclair Broadcasting in Mid-Michigan
We’re excited to partner again with the reigning USL2 National Champions to provide our viewers with electrifying local sports. With the continuation of sports postponements, delivering Flint City Bucks soccer to Mid-Michigan is important to us.
CW46 reaches all of Mid-Michigan.
The Flint City Bucks remain the only soccer club in North America to have players chosen at every MLS SuperDraft in history. Ninety-two Bucks have now been drafted or signed by MLS teams since 1999, and more than 200 have signed professional contracts worldwide.
To watch a game at Atwood Stadium is pretty awesome. If you don't ever travel to that part of Flint you sometimes forget its history and that it's even there. You should definitely make it a point to go to a game this season.
