Which Genesee County Kroger Is Closing?

According to ABC12, it's the Kroger inside Carmen Plaza on Corunna Road in Flint Township, just off I-75.

The company announced that the store will permanently close, but there's at least a little good news. The Kroger at the corner of Corunna and Dye Road isn't going anywhere. That was actually the big question on social media after the news broke, and thankfully the answer is no, it's not closing.

The Carmen Plaza Kroger will officially close on September 30, 2026.

It's not all bad news for the employees who work there. Kroger says everyone affected by the closure will have the opportunity to transfer to another store.

This isn't just happening in Flint Township.

Kroger is closing around 60 stores across the country. The Carmen Plaza location is now one of the stores confirmed to be on that list.
