There's a real problem in Grand Blanc, and it only seems to be getting worse.

For some strange reason, some residents are ignoring all the laws surrounding school bus safety and the fact that they are required to stop when a bus driver activates the flashing red lights.

This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time, but today seemed especially bad as I counted four cars as they drove by a school bus without stopping or even slowing down when the flashing lights were activated and the stop arm was extended out.

When and Where Did This Happen?

This happened this morning at about 6:30 while I was driving along Belsay Road on my way to work. I was directly behind a school bus that first put on its yellow flashing lights, followed by its red ones. Every single car drove by as if the bus didn't even exist while its red flashing lights were on. It was the craziest thing.

I understand that some people are unsure when or if they should stop for the yellow flashing lights. However, when those lights are red, you stop right then and there. It's absolutely crucial that you stop immediately to ensure the safety of the students.

It blows me away that were are still having these discussions. It doesn't matter if you're running late for work or whatever other excuses people are trying to use, you have to stop.

Come on, Grand Blanc, we can do better.

Grand Blanc's Mintor Manor is All You Thought It Was and More

The stylish modern home on Perry Road known as Mintor Manor has had residents curious about what the inside looked like for years. A few years back the home was on the market and we had a chance to take a look thanks to the listing by Lasco Real Estate Group. The home sold in May of 2022 for $560,000.
