Fans awaiting my major motion picture debut in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' got excited this week when a photo made it look like the movie will be split in two, with the first part dropping this October. Is it true?

The large narrative scope of the forthcoming 'Batman v. Superman' film makes this latest rumor seem highly believable. Just look at this list of things that we pretty much already know will happen during the blockbuster:

  1. The introduction of Batman/Bruce Wayne, which will inevitably include a flashback to his parent's murder among other backstory plot devices
  2. A Wonder Woman origin story
  3. A Cyborg origin story
  4. An Aquaman origin story
  5. A Lex Luthor intro/orgin story
  6. A fight between Batman and Superman... oh yeah, we almost forgot this is a Superman movie
  7. Lois Lane doing stuff, probably needing to be saved a few times
  8. Bats and Supes making up and joining forces (probably with the other heroes as well) to fight a big bad, presumably one that is not Lex Luthor
  9. The titular "Dawn of Justice"
  10. Introduction/origin story for said big bad

As you can see, there's already a lot of movie here and this is just the stuff that's common knowledge. My involvement with the film clued me in on some other major plot points, but I'm not willing to be sued for millions to let you know them.

Since all of those things are happening, a 2-part movie doesn't seem like a bad idea... provided they don't make us wait a year between parts like every other movie with this setup has. According to a lot of other sites, a photo posted on Imgur (seen above) says that will not be the case. The first part, subtitled 'Part 1: Enter the Knight' will hit theaters on October 23, 2015, with 'Part 2: Dawn of Justice' hitting on the previously announced date of March 25, 2016.

I'm just as excited to see this movie as anyone, but I think that this could be a clever fakeout. This type of thing is easily replicated in photoshop. I spent about 15 minutes in photoshop creating a similar screen and then took a fairly crappy picture of it with my phone. The results (seen below) are about the same as what you see in the picture above. That doesn't mean that the latest rumors are untrue, it just mean that we can't be sure until it is officially announced.

The rumors may be confirmed with the release of the first Batman V. Superman trailer, heavily rumored to be premiering in theaters with 'Jupiter Ascending' on February 6th.
