Most engineers are even labeling this specific attack as some of the most convincing that they've ever seen before.

It starts as a simple phone call, which labels themselves as Google tech support. The call will then tell you that there has been a suspicious or unauthorized login to your account.

These scams are extremely convincing, to the point that "Google Tech" will ask for a verification code that you are sent, which gives the scammers access to your account.

As a reminder, companies won't call you or urge you to click suspicious links that are sent to you. In fact, Google has a pretty sophisticated authentication method. You'll know if someone is attempting to access your account in real-time with the "did you just try accessing this account message?"

If you are receiving a call, and it appears to be legitimate, you should hang up and reach out to that company directly for support.
