'Metal Gear Solid' has long featured David Hayter as the voices of both Solid Snake and his Clone-Dad, Big Boss/Snake. So when Kojima son announced that Jack Bauer (aka Kiefer Sutherland) was to replace Hayter in MGS5 -- the proverbial s--- hit the fan. Here are some of the highlights of the backlash.

Anyone who is familiar with the history of the 'Metal Gear Solid' franchise knows Hayter's voice as that of Big Boss and probably will have a hard time letting go of that. However, as many have noted in Facebook comment threads about the big switch, the game's timeline is nearing the events of the original 'Metal Gear' game (how awesome is that remake going to be!?). Soon enough, a young Solid Snake will square off against Big Boss and it would be silly to have the two voiced by the same actor (even though one is sort of a clone of the other).

As a longtime and devout fan of MGS -- I bought a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360 solely because of MGS4 -- I have no problem with Hayter not being Big Boss anymore. The same might not be true if, in the next game, they recast Solid Snake as well. There are, however, plenty of disapproving fans of the current change-up. Let's look at some highlights from the butthurt on Facebook:
