Memorial Day is one of those holidays when many major retailers take full advantage of the occasion and roll out big sales, keeping their doors open for shoppers looking for deals. But not every retailer follows the same playbook. One major Michigan retailer is shutting down all of its locations for the day.

Don't worry, you'll still find all of those Memorial Day sales at plenty of other major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Meijer, Sam's Club, and Kohl's. There’s no shortage of spots to score some sweet deals. Just remember to check the hours before you head out because some stores' hours may differ a bit on Memorial Day.

We were a little surprised by this, especially since nearly every other major retailer is staying open on Memorial Day. I guess they must really value their employees, giving them the chance to enjoy the holiday without having to deal with the usual retail madness.
