I am beyond sick of covering stories like this. Not surprised. Just flat out angry and disgusted that we keep seeing the same thing over and over again. Another abused animal. Another weak excuse. Another person who never should have been allowed near a pet in the first place.

This time around, police in Detroit found a dog so weak and cold that officers initially thought it was already dead. Turns out the dog was still alive. Barely. Starving. Dehydrated. Hypothermic. Left outside in the winter like it was trash.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, the man accused, Darnell Lamar Robinson, is now facing a felony charge for killing or torturing an animal. Good. There is absolutely no gray area here. Not even a little. You don't accidentally starve a dog. You don't forget a dog outside in freezing temperatures. This was a choice. And it's evil.

And what makes this even worse is that this is not some rare, freak incident. It happens way more often than people realize. We have covered so many stories just like this. Dogs tied up and abandoned. Dogs put in cages and dumped in lakes. Animals left behind in empty houses. Pets treated like they have no worth. It is just brutal to keep seeing.

If you can’t feed an animal, shelter it, and protect it from the cold, don’t own one. Surrender it. Ask for help. Do literally anything other than leaving it to starve and freeze.
