Michigan Rep Introduces Bill to Ban Vaccine Passport

I'm all about getting the COVID-19 vaccine but what I'm not all about is a vaccine passport that would show your immunization record. Even though there are universities in the state that are basically already doing that. The University of Michigan and the University of Oakland are requiring students to get vaccinated if they want to live on campus.

Even though Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitner says that it's not something the state is planning, some people don't want to take that chance. A northern Michigan representative recently introduced a bill that would prevent tax-payer funded entities from requiring people to be vaccinated for COVID.

According to WDIV, Republican state Rep. Sue Allor is pushing Michigan Bill 4667, which would ban vaccine passports or any other systems where individuals’ civil rights are diminished by their COVID-19 vaccination status.

The bill is moving in the right direction as it's already passed in the Michigan House of Representatives.

I like the idea of planning ahead but it seems kind of like a waste of money to focus on something that technically doesn't even exist and hopefully never will.

You don't need to be vaccinated to fly within the United States. However, there are some international destinations, including popular European vacation spots, that are only reopening to vaccinated visitors for now. So if you're thinking of finally taking an international trip, do yourself a favor and do a little research.
