Boyne Mountain Could Set New Ski Season Closing Record
Just when you thought ski season in Michigan was long gone, Boyne Mountain is over here saying, “Hold my beer.”
Boyne Mountain Resort is still keeping one run alive in the middle of May, and yeah, it looks just as wild as it sounds. A recent video shows a giant strip of snow running down the hill while everything around it is green grass and spring trees.
That run is called Victor Glacier, and it’s basically Boyne’s late-season snow monster. If everything holds up, Boyne could officially set its latest closing date ever.

Boyne Mountain Could Set A New Closing Record
According to Boyne Mountain, Victor Glacier is still open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm as the resort tries to make it to Memorial Day weekend. If they pull it off, it would officially be Boyne Mountain’s latest closing date ever.
That is kind of insane when you think about it. Most of us have already mowed the lawn several times, cleaned up the yard, and started complaining about pollen. Meanwhile, people are still strapping into skis and snowboards up north.
Breaking that record, though, could end up being a serious challenge considering it’s supposed to be sunny and in the mid 70s at Boyne Mountain this weekend.
Boho Bash Hits Boyne Mountain This Weekend
Boyne is also hosting its annual Boho Bash this weekend, which is basically a late-season ski party tied to the longtime rivalry between Boyne Mountain and Mount Bohemia over who can stay open the longest each spring
Boho passholders can ski free at Boyne from 9 am to 1 pm, and later there’s a pool takeover at Clock Tower Lodge.
Only in Michigan can you still be skiing while rolling into June.
