Michigan’s Spring Forecast Isn’t What We Were Hoping For
Let’s be real, we’re still in the middle of a bitter cold Michigan winter. Like, the kind that hurts. But a little sunshine sneaks out, and suddenly everyone starts wondering how far away spring really is. Yeah, we were wondering too.
So here’s the deal. AccuWeather just dropped an early spring outlook, and it’s basically telling us not to get ahead of ourselves. Spring is coming, but it’s not exactly what we were hoping for.

March looks like it could stay colder than normal, which means winter might still be clinging on longer than we’d like. Cold mornings, frost, and yeah, even the chance for some late-season snow are still very much on the table. Totally on brand for Michigan.
The big picture is this. The switch to warmer weather around the Great Lakes is going to be slow. Like, really slow. The weather pattern just isn’t budging, storms keep lining up, and spring isn’t flipping the switch anytime soon.
As for severe weather, tornadoes aren’t expected to be a big issue this spring. So hey, at least there’s that. Silver lining, right? Instead, expect more gusty winds and heavier downpours popping up from time to time. Honestly, that sounds a lot like last spring.

Bottom line, spring will get here… basically when it gets here. It’s just going to take a while.
Then again, it’s Michigan. Anything can happen, no matter what the experts are predicting. Or a groundhog, for that matter.
