This summer is shaping up to be awesome!

After the last year and a half, many of us are sick of being at home and seeing everything closed down. Thankfully, that will not be the case this summer! We are already starting to see a bunch of concerts, fairs, and festivals announced.

When it comes to local activities, Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation has a couple of cool family-friendly options for you to check out. Coming up next Friday, June 11th, you and the family can check out Outdoor Movie Night at Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc. It is a free event and the movie will get kicked off at 9:30 pm. The movie that will be playing is 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.'

It doesn't end there either. On Friday, July 16th, Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Pig Road Luau Fundraiser. That event will run from 5:30 pm until 10 pm.

For the adults, be sure to check out their Adult Kickball League. This is something I've always wanted to do. Adult Kickball is played on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm or 7:20 pm. Teams can put 10 players on the field (5 men and 5 women) and the games themselves go nine innings. Don't worry about your skill level either as divisions are based on experience and skill.

Having lived in Grand Blanc for years now, I'm so happy to see movement back in this city. The running paths, parks, and stores have all been pretty slow the last year, which is depressing when you can see the bike trail from your window. This summer is already looking different and it feels great!
