This Michigan College Has the Largest Snake Collection in the World
A Michigan college is home to the largest snake collection in the world.
According to the New York Post, a recent donation from Oregon State University put this particular Ann Arbor, Michigan university on the map (and in the record books) for having the most snakes.
By now you may have guessed, that the University of Michigan Ann Arbor was the proud recipient of 45,000 types of reptiles and amphibians from Oregon State University. Over 30,000 snakes were part of the donation to the U of M Museum of Zoology.
Snakes may give you the creeps, but that is not the case for the University of Michigan students working with them. As you will see in the videos below, the students involved with the project are beyond excited.
Although this may sound like a plot to a horror movie, the snakes will be very beneficial for scientific studies, and this collection is a game changer for the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology.
The snake collection cannot be viewed in person by the general public but will be available to researchers and scientists around the world.
