9 Unforgettable ‘V-Man’ Slipknot Moments
It’s been five years since Alessandro ‘V-Man’ Venturella first took the stage as Slipknot’s modern-day bassist. Now that we’ve paid tribute to Jay Weinberg, it’s time to give V-Man his due with this list of unforgettable moments.
Like Weinberg’s list, we made sure to include V-Man’s pre-Slipknot bands. Back in the 2000s, the musician played lead guitar in Cry for Silence, a metalcore band that found modest success and released three albums. We also threw in some Krokodil footage to deliver some brutal riffage to the list.
During a 2015 show in Hartford, Conn., V-Man suddenly left the stage, temporarily halting the show while he was put into an ambulance. The bassist suffered from severe dehydration and was transported to the hospital, and Corey Taylor had the crowd give V-Man a moment of loudness — “I want you all to make fucking noise for him.”
We’ve also got footage from V-Man’s first ever show with the Knot, back during the first day of Knotfest in 2014. We even found footage of the bassist performing unmasked while sound checking with the Nine, along with 2019 live shots of V-Man crushing Paul Gray’s bass line from “Surfacing.”
