A Durand woman will appear on the season premiere of 'Master Chef' tonight, Wednesday, May 29th on the FOX Network at 8:00 PM. According to the shows website, the premise is to put home cooks through a series of challenges and elimination rounds.

Liz Linn from Durand, Michigan will be one of the 36 contestants on the show, competing for a spot in the top 20, and a shot at $250,000. Damn, I wish I would have learned how to cook. It is too late for me, but not Liz Linn.

If you have seen 'Master Chef', you know the show is anything but easy. Liz along with fellow Grand Rapids, Michigan resident, Micha Yaroch, will be judeged by Chef Gordon Ramsay, Chef Aarón Sánchez and Chef Joe Bastianich. Talk about intimidation.

According to MLIVE, Liz is a 'farm girl' who left her job as a corporate event coordinator to film the show in Los Angeles earlier this year. Micha from Grand Rapids took culinary classes in high school and was/is working as a food porter. Of course both of these Michigan contestants cannot say how far they went in the competition - but you can see them both on the premiere tonight.

Here is to wishing the best for our Michigan contestants. I hope one of you win the coveted 'White Apron'.
