Frank’s Hoppy Bistro In Fenton Is Open For Business
I am so excited about this. After months of hard work and preparation, Frank's Hoppy Bistro in Fenton will be open for business this Saturday, October 30th.
I had the opportunity to meet with owners Shayne and Rachel Medore this morning and check out their new spot. Frank's Hoppy Bistro is located at 3235 Thompson Road, in the former Canadian Steak Fish and Sandwich Co. building. As you will see in the pictures below, the space looks completely different. Like I said, the husband and wife team have done a lot of work and it shows.
You would never in a million years guess that the bar that Shayne built in the restaurant was made out of a family members deck (see in picture gallery below). Talk about getting creative. I enjoyed walking around the restaurant and reading the retro magazine ads Rachel has decorated with.
One picture on the wall is very special, it's a Norman Rockwell piece that was on the wall at Frank's Tavern for countless years. If you look close, you can see paint around the frame. According to Rachel, whenever anyone painted at the former Fenton hot spot, they painted around the picture - it was never taken down. I love the fact the picture is now on display once again.
The picture is not the only thing in the restaurant from Frank's Tavern. Get this, a former cook at Frank's will now be in the kitchen at Frank's Hoppy Bistro.
The menu at Frank's Hoppy Bistro sounds amazing. Guest can enjoy wide variety of fish - Haddock, Smelt, Cod and Pollock and you know they will be serving Frank's famous fish sauce along with tarter sauce and coleslaw. Additional menu items include the following,
- Frog legs
- Homemade french fries
- Shrimp
- Gator Bites
But wait, there is more. You can also enjoy individual Artisan Pizzas that will rotate, but the signature pizza will be Shrimp Pesto. Additional options include Greek pizza, a vegetarian medley and pepperoni with fresh basil. All pizza crusts are homemade daily in house. Anyone else getting hungry?
Frank's Hoppy Bistro will eventually be serving specially selected beer and wine, but not during the grand opening.Temporary hours of operation are as follow,
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday through Thursday: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Friday: 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday: Noon to 10:00 PM
- Sunday: Noon to 8:00 PM
Congratulations Rachel and Shayne, I will see you and your awesome crew this weekend. Be sure to follow Frank's Hoppy Bistro on Facebook for updates on extended hours and more.
