Recall On Popular Allergy Medication Over Child Safety Concerns In Michigan

Attention Michigan, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for a popular allergy medication.

The recall specifies that children are most at risk of being poisoned because the packaging is NOT child-resistant.

Allergy Medication Recall Details

Check your medicine cabinet ASAP to see if you have any Benadryl bottles. You need to look for a 100-milliliter bottle of Benadryl Liquid Elixir. If still in the box, this will be on the label, 'X003VRIGUL' (photo below).

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission sites the following hazards,

The Benadryl contains diphenhydramine, which must be in child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The packaging of the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

All recalled 100-milliliter bottles of Benadryl Liquid Elixir were sold online.

If you purchased Benadryl Liquid Elixier on Amazon from July 2023 through October 2024 for roughly, $16 and $19, there is a good chance you have a recalled bottle.

What do I do if I have a recalled bottle of Benadryl Liquid Elixir?

Per the USCPS recall, you are instructed to do the following,

Consumers should immediately secure the Benadryl out of the sight and reach of children and contact Arsell for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to submit their Amazon order number and a photo demonstrating disposal of the recalled Benadryl to recall@arsellsupport.com. Only the bottle is being recalled, not the medicine itself, but both should be disposed of. All known purchasers are being contacted directly.
