Waterford Police Come Face to Face With Giant 10-Foot Python
Midnight shift officers from the Waterford Township Police Department proved their fearlessness after coming face to face with a giant python over the weekend. I only say this because I am absolutely terrified of snakes, regardless if they're non-venomous.
They captured the python after receiving a call Saturday night. According to WXYZ, the snake was found near Elizabeth Lake and Crescent Lake Roads in Waterford Township. I think I would have ignored that call altogether.

There’s never a dull moment in policing…Waterford midnight shift officers made local hisssssstory tonight by catching a 10-foot boa constrictor that was on the loose. The constrictor, who we named Jerry, was unharmed and safely turned over to Oakland County Animal Control & Pet Adoption Center.
Side note: If you or someone you know is missing a boa constrictor, we’d like to talk to them.
After getting a lot of feedback on social media after posting this, they updated their post and said that Jerry is, in fact, a reticulated python.

Reticulated pythons are native to Southeast Asia, including countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. According to Wikipedia, they are among the largest snake species in the world and can reach lengths of over 20 feet.
More than likely, the snake was a pet that either escaped or was released by its owner.
